Today's common encryption (RSA/ECC) can be intercepted and stored now, then decrypted later once quantum computers are powerful enough — known as "harvest now, decrypt later."

What this is

Not quantum hardware — a quantum-resistant algorithm (ML-KEM-768 / FIPS 203) that runs on any ordinary computer, including the one you're using right now.

Save the secret key somewhere safe. It never leaves your browser and is never sent to us — if you lose it, this data cannot be recovered by anyone, including M Infinite.

This uses @noble/post-quantum, an open-source implementation of NIST FIPS 203 (ML-KEM), plus your browser's built-in AES-256-GCM. Nothing you type is sent to any server — refresh the page and everything is gone, by design.

Is this actual quantum computing?

No. This is post-quantum cryptography — a classical algorithm that runs on any normal computer but is designed to resist attacks from a future quantum computer. No quantum hardware is involved anywhere in this tool.

Why would I need quantum-resistant encryption today?

Because of "harvest now, decrypt later": data encrypted with today's common methods (RSA/ECC) could be intercepted and stored now, then decrypted once sufficiently powerful quantum computers exist. Anything you want to keep private for years is worth encrypting with a quantum-resistant algorithm today, which is also why India's RBI and DST have set migration timelines for the finance sector.

What happens if I lose the secret key?

The data is permanently unrecoverable. Nothing is stored on any server, so there is no backup or recovery option — this is by design, to guarantee the data was never accessible to anyone but you.

Does M Infinite store my data or keys?

No. All key generation, encryption, and decryption happens entirely inside your browser using standard Web Crypto APIs and an open-source library. Nothing is transmitted or saved, matching the same approach used by our tax, retirement, and debt planning tools.
